Alabaster is a sedimentary natural stone formed by evaporation, where the fine-grained aggregate at the ocean floor is left behind and consists primarily of gypsum, hydrous sulphate of calcium.

Alabaster is translucent, and it comes in white, beige, yellow, brown, and green.
